I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:
I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.

Sorry for the absence but I have some personal problems.

After 3 years of work, my employment contract will be end on May 10, so... I decided to open a 'P.IVA' (VAT number) to work freelance/self-employed as graphic designer & photographer.
It's not a simple thing, I need to invest money in hardware, software licence and other tools..  but it's the only thing I can do now because here in Italy there are many problems for employed people and I would like to work as freelance because it's my personal ambition from many years. Now it's the time to do it!
Here you see only my 'artistic' photos but outside DA I'm working as freelance graphic design (without VAT, it's an occasional work) since 1 years to do some money. I like this job, I prefer photography of course but it's not easy to become a professional photographer and I found more clients around graphic design (logos, brochures, flyers, etc.) and web design.
My official business facebook page will be open soon, now I'm working on my logo, brand and website.

I'm very busy and I can't work on my photos but ..wait for me.. I'll be back! It's a promise :hug: :)

Sorry if I don't reply to your message, faves, etc. but I'll do it when I'll come back here, I hope as soon as possible!

Wish the best for your new work! I absolutely understand you (here in Greece things are even worse) and I feel that if you believe that this is what you have to do go for it with all your might!!

Being a professional photographer and making enough money to make ends meet is really hard. Unless maybe you want to do weddings and stuff. If you dont, things are really hard. Graphic work is quite a good alternative and maybe it will give you a chance to use your photography as well!
